Japanese Gel Manicure at J Flow Nail

Japanese Gel Manicures have been quickly gaining popularity over the last few years, and it’s easy to see why; Japanese soft gel nails offer long-lasting, durable, and beautiful finishes that are hard to acquire elsewhere.

At J Flow Nail, we specialize in providing a top-tier Japanese Gel Manicure experience, focusing on precision, beauty, and comfort. In this article, we’ll give you an overview of what to expect during a Japanese Gel Manicure at J Flow Nail.

Manicures are beauty treatments for the hands that usually consist of these steps:

  1. Nail Cutting, Filing/Shaping

  2. Cuticle Care

  3. Nail Application

Japanese Gel Manicures mostly follow the same steps as regular manicures. However, it involves soft gel nails, which require specific nail prep and a unique application process that uses LED or UV lights to harden the polish.

Step 1: Nail Cutting, Nail Filing/Shaping

The manicure process begins with nail cutting, followed by careful filing to achieve your desired shape. J Flow Nail offers detailed shaping for each client, whether you’d prefer a round or square shape. And we take particular care to ensure a finish that’s smooth and appealing, from every angle. (Precise nail filing is actually a huge component in how long the nails last, and how resistant to damage it becomes.)

Step 2: Cuticle Care

Cuticles are the thin layers of skin that are at the base of the nail. Cuticle care is important as it helps nail polish adhere better, resulting in a cleaner look and longer-lasting manicure. And of course, we make sure to conduct the care in a safe and detailed manner to prevent potential damage to the nail bed and surrounding skin. Without proper cuticle maintenance, manicures can appear untidy and are more prone to chipping prematurely.

Oftentimes, cuticle care involves soaking your fingers in warm water for about 5-10 minutes to soften your cuticles. Afterwards, you’d have any dead skin removed with nippers.

At J Flow Nail, however, we conduct dry cuticle care; which involves just using a nail buffer tool to remove any dead skin, no water at all. Dry cuticle care is ideal for Japanese gel manicures because soft gel nails don’t adhere well when there’s moisture.

Step 3: Gel Nail Application

At J Flow Nail, we apply soft gel nails by using a synthetic resin then curing it under LED light. Our soft gel nails last from 2 to 4+ weeks, thanks to the quality of our products and precise application.

Although it may look easy, achieving the flawless nail finish requires specialized tools and a high level of skill. Technicians at J Flow Nail bring both, ensuring that each gel manicure results in a smooth and evenly distributed finish.

Beyond aesthetics, J Flow Nail recognizes the importance of manicures in boosting mental health. Beautiful nails can elevate mood and confidence, as hands are a focal point in daily activities. Most people see and use their hands more than any other part of our body, which means having beautiful nails can have a big impact on your confidence. We also offer hand massages that can be added as a part of the manicure process, promoting relaxation and well-being.

Our Japanese Gel Manicures stand out for their focus on custom nail shaping, creative designs, and meticulous attention to detail. J Flow Nail is committed to providing a satisfying and comfortable experience, ensuring each client leaves with durable, beautifully manicured nails. For those seeking exceptional nail care, J Flow Nail offers a service that combines beauty with personal care, ensuring the highest possible level of satisfaction.
